
Dr. Arisman is the Executive Director of the Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS), Indonesia. He has over 25 years of experience in teaching and research supervision at universities in Indonesia. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the Department of Development Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.Visiting Professor at Western Sydney University, Australia, and Universiti Malaya (UM).
Arisman has been involved in various research projects and consultancies to ASEAN, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the European Union (EU), the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), the German Development Agency (GIZ), the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES). His research interests are environmental Issues in ASEAN, Sustainable Cities, Marine Environment, Waste Management, Circular Economy, Sustainable Business and Environment, Social & Governance (ESG).
