
Dato’ Shahrir Abdul Latiff serves as the Managing Director of TNB Power Generation Sdn. Bhd. (TNB Genco), where he provides strategic leadership in delivering reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity while advancing Malaysia’s energy transition through operational excellence and the development of next-generation energy infrastructure.
With over 37 years of experience in the power generation industry, he has held key leadership roles across power plant operations, asset management, technical services and project development. He led the development and execution of landmark power generation projects, including the 2,000 MW Jimah East Power Plant and the 1,440 MW Southern Power Generation Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Plant.
Prior to his appointment as Managing Director, he served as Chief Development Officer and Senior General Manager of Technical Services at TNB Genco. Earlier in his career, he held key leadership positions within TNB’s Energy Ventures Division and served as Managing Director of TNB Energy Services Sdn. Bhd. (TNBES).
In his current role, Dato’ Shahrir is driving TNB Genco’s long-term growth through a diversified generation portfolio comprising hydro, Hybrid Hydro Floating Solar (HHFS), hydrogen-ready combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) and energy storage projects. He is committed to strengthening generation reliability, operational excellence and asset performance while supporting TNB’s energy transition and sustainability ambitions.
