
Mohd Syazwan Mokhtar is a public affairs and sustainability strategist with over 15 years of experience in environmental governance, social impact, and strategic communications. He is currently the CEO of Nuplas Solutions, a circular economy company focused on tackling marine plastic pollution by transforming discarded fishing nets into high-value recycled materials.
Prior to this, he served as a senior advisor to Malaysia’s Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, where he worked on climate policy, international reporting, and stakeholder engagement, while also supporting grassroots engagement and strengthening communication between the ministry and the public. His past leadership roles include leading Maaedicare Charitable Foundation, where he supported underserved communities through dialysis assistance, cardiac care, and free clinics, as well as scaling national food rescue efforts as GM of The Lost Food Project. He also served as PR and Special Projects Manager at Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) Selangor, where his work included contributions to the Smart Selangor initiative.
An Acumen Fellow with a background in law and mass communication, Syazwan brings deep expertise in ESG strategy, climate advocacy, and government systems, helping mission-driven organisations build the structures and partnerships needed to scale impact.
