Kiu Jia Yaw is the founder of Kiu & Co., a sustainable development law firm in Kuala Lumpur.
Jia Yaw advises leaders from the government, business and civil society sectors. He works on systemic change through law and policy.
Jia Yaw is a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia. He was part of the team that developed the National Planetary Health Action Plan which was launched in October 2025. He currently chairs the Bar Council Environment, Climate Change and ESG Committee. The Committee is dedicated to strengthening the recognition of environmental rights, upholding environmental justice, and advancing business responsibility through the ESG agenda.
Jia Yaw was the Co-Chair of the Malaysian CSO-SDG Alliance (2022 – 2025), a network of civil society organisations working on all 17 Sustainable Development Goals across Malaysia, which is the official civil society partner of the Malaysian Government in the national agenda of achieving the SDGs by 2030.
