With over three decades of diverse experience spanning Asia and the globe, Alex offers a distinctive and deeply informed perspective on complex development challenges. His career trajectory reveals a consistent commitment to forging multi-stakeholder partnerships and driving tangible social change.
In the early 1990s, he pioneered an innovative initiative that brought together civil society groups, government bodies, industry associations, and labor unions. This powerful coalition successfully enhanced working conditions within Thailand’s garment sector. Building on this success, Alex established a social auditing consultancy, where he developed and led teams across North and Southeast Asia to conduct critical assessments in agricultural and manufacturing supply chains.
In parallel with his consultancy work, Alex has served as a university lecturer and conducted extensive research on agricultural value chains, further deepening his expertise. For the last two decades, he has been a trusted partner for major multilateral organizations and international NGOs, including the FAO, IUCN, ILO, Rainforest Alliance, USAID and the UNDP. Through these collaborations, he has delivered high-impact capacity-building projects, focusing on strategic advisory services for CSR, ESG, and SDG initiatives. His work has included social impact assessments, technical reports, and specialized training for public and private sector clients across Asia, Latin America, and Africa. At present, Alex is assisting the UNDP Cambodia with the analysis and development of an ESG-Aligned Pension Fund Investment program.
