Ashley Brosnan

Ashley Brosnan is the recently appointed Regional Climate Counsellor covering Southeast Asia, based out
of the Australian High Commission in Singapore. His role is to facilitate a better understanding of the
climate diplomacy priorities and sensitivities, forge new and deeper connections with key climate and energy
stakeholders, develop policy ideas for Australia’s COP agenda and to drive greater regional action on climate
change and the clean energy transition. Australia has set the climate target of 62-70% below 2005 levels by 2035 and net zero by 2050 in legislation – providing policy and investment certainty and government accountability. Ashley is a trained economist with expertise in economic development, international finance, and trade. He also has a background in finance, and oil & gas. He has a Masters in International Relations, and an Honours degree in Law, and Economics.
