Ms. Kasama Kongsmak

Kasama Kongsmak currently serves as Executive Vice President at the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), an operating arm of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the functions of depa’s Strategy and Security Promotion Unit, which include conducting market surveys of the digital industry, monitoring technology trends, doing policy research on digital transformation/ digital economy, providing insights and recommendations for public and private organizations, coordinating study projects with stakeholders in the public, private, academic, and civic society sectors as well as providing the vulnerable group, particularly the elderly and the disabled, with the necessary digital skills and knowledge and raising awareness of cyber threats.

Before joining depa, Kasama spent over 10 years working as a policy researcher at the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Ministry of Science and Technology. Specializing in ICT policy research, she was part of the team responsible for the drafting of several national ICT plans, namely the 2nd Thailand ICT Master Plan (2009-2013), Thailand ICT Policy Framework (2011- 2020) and the latest 20-year Thailand Digital Economy and Society Development Plan (2016-2035).

In 2000, Kasama graduated with an MSc in Telecommunications and Network Management from Syracuse University, New York.
