Dr. Non Arkara is a senior expert in smart city promotion from Thailand’s Digital Economy Promotion Authority (depa). He champions a “citizen-centric” approach to city development. Non believes citizen participation is key. DEPA aims to enhance technological and data literacy among citizens by empowering them with the right tools. By putting people first, collaboration and innovation among citizens can drive sustainable growth through purposeful technology solutions. Extensive collaboration allows all parties to achieve more efficiently, attain better outcomes, and foster innovation.
Non shapes smart city policies, educates smart city officers across Thailand’s 77 provinces, and leads numerous smart city projects. His approach ensures progress is efficient, effective, inclusive, and leads to better, more innovative urban environments. Non received his master’s degrees from MIT and Oxford University, and a doctorate in anthropology from Harvard University. He is committed to building smarter, more livable cities in Thailand by empowering citizens with technology and fostering collaboration.
