
Ir. Amin Ramli is a Professional Engineer with over two decades of international and Malaysian experience in transportation, infrastructure planning and climate-resilient urban development. He currently serves as the Managing Director of Straits Consulting Engineers Sdn Bhd, where he leads multidisciplinary teams in delivering civil and infrastructure projects across Malaysia.
Ir. Amin is a Council Member of the Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM), representing the voice of consulting engineers in advancing sustainable, resilient, and future-ready infrastructure nationwide. He is also a Board Member of the Malaysia Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), contributing to national initiatives aligned with Malaysia’s energy transition and climate adaptation agenda.
He began his career in the United States with STV Incorporated, gaining exposure to large-scale transportation and infrastructure projects before returning to Malaysia to focus on urban infrastructure, stormwater management, and sustainable development. His professional credentials include Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate (Malaysia), Professional Engineer (Texas, USA), Chartered Professional Engineer (Australia), ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer, and APEC Engineer, reflecting his regional and global recognition.
Ir. Amin holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, New York, and a Master in Sustainable Development Management from Sunway University. He is actively involved in professional and technical bodies including the Malaysian Stormwater Organisation (MSO), the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), and ASCE.
Through his leadership and advocacy, Ir. Amin continues to champion integrated infrastructure design that balances liveability, safety, and climate resilience in Malaysia’s rapidly urbanising cities.
