
Ts. Anusha Magendram is the Head of Sustainable & Smart City / Assistant Vice President of the
Sustainable Development and Technologies Department at the Malaysian Industry-Government
Group for High Technology (MIGHT). With over two decades of experience in sustainable
development, she is recognised as a leading expert in the advancement of smart and sustainable
cities in Malaysia.
In her current capacity, Ts. Anusha plays a central role in managing and coordinating national-
level initiatives, including the Malaysia Smart Cities Alliance Association (MSCA) and the
Sustainable City Project under the Global Environment Facility (GEF-6) and Sustainable Cities
Integrated Program on Decarbonization and Sustainable Cities for Net-Zero Future in Malaysia
(GEF8), implemented in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development
Organization (UNIDO). Her leadership in these initiatives underscores her commitment to
fostering integrated, resilient, and future-ready urban development.
Throughout her tenure at MIGHT, Ts. Anusha has demonstrated excellence in multidisciplinary
project execution, encompassing research, science diplomacy, policy advocacy, and stakeholder
engagement. She has successfully led the development of strategic publications, knowledge-
sharing platforms, and high-impact conferences, contributing to national and regional dialogue on
sustainable urbanisation.
Her advisory role extends across government and industry, where she provides strategic insights
on policy formulation, public-private partnerships, and sustainable innovation. Ts. Anusha is also
instrumental in building collaborative ecosystems that support evidence-based decision-making
and long-term urban transformation.
Prior to her role at MIGHT, she held senior positions including Head of Operations at Yayasan
Inovasi Malaysia and Team Leader at MYOB Australia Pty Ltd., demonstrating a breadth of
experience across both the public and private sectors.
Ts. Anusha holds a master’s degree in computer science with a focus on Software Engineering
and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. Her academic background, combined with
her professional experience, reflects a strong foundation in technology-driven sustainability and
systems thinking.
