
Shankar is the Chief Technology Officer at Boost Bank, the nation’s first homegrown digital bank with a pioneering embedded banking app.
He is a thought leader and a strategic technology executive with over 18 years of international leadership experience in various sectors across Middle East, Southeast Asia, and India. His experience spans across technology and information security leadership roles. He has worked closely with large-sized as well as start-up companies in advising and transforming the organisations’ roles in technology and cybersecurity.
In the past decade, Shankar has held various leadership roles in consulting, banking, and fintech. He was part of Boost Bank’s core team from strategy, design, and build to operationalising the digital bank. Shankar embraces a multi-altitude leadership approach, shifting between taking a holistic view of business, performance, and strategy, combined with getting into the grains of detail to broaden understanding and intimacy with opportunities and challenges.
Shankar has been advising start-ups as pro bono since 2021. He is a start-up mentor under the Data Security Council of India (DSCI) National CoE for Cybersecurity Development & Entrepreneurship. He was empanelled as a council member in the APAC Cyber Defenders Council. He was also formally inducted into CSO Security Council , in association with the CSO Hall of Fame, which is an invitation-only community programme for security leaders.
Shankar has received multiple accolades, including the ASIA CIO 100 and the Top CSOs in ASEAN for 3 consecutive years from the International Data Corporation (IDC).
