
Ashran Dato’ Ghazi is a prominent leader in the entrepreneurship ecosystem with a career defined by challenging the status quo to drive positive social and economic impact. A former Petronas scholar, he began his career in the Oil & Gas and construction sectors before diving into entrepreneurship in the early 2000s. He has since built a diverse portfolio of ventures, including co-founding the content-networking startup Joota which secured USD 2.1 million in private US investment and establishing the Asiastream Group.
A visionary ecosystem builder, Ashran has spearheaded numerous high-profile national and regional pioneer initiatives. These include creating the ASEAN Rice Bowl Startup Awards, establishing the creative sector accelerator ComicXcel, and curating BAHTERA (Bumipreneurs of Tomorrow) for the Ministry of Finance.
Before taking the helm at MRANTI, Ashran served in vital leadership and advisory roles across Malaysia’s innovation landscape. His extensive governance experience includes serving as CEO of the Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC), Chairman of the New Entrepreneurs Foundation (myNEF), Chairman of myHarapan, and Board Member for SME Corp and MASMED. Today, he continues to champion the growth of the MSME community, focusing heavily on leveraging AI and Data technology to multiply sustainable, real-world impact.
